SCAFFOLDING COLLAPSES

Scaffolding on the Customhouse Quay side of the premises of Levin and Co., Ltd., where earthquake damage is being repaired, collapsed about 1.30 p.m. today, apparently under the weight of broken bricks and masonry awaiting removal. For about threequarters of the Customhouse Quay frontage of the building the scaffolding of steel and wood presented a sorry sight after the mishap, with sections of bent steel and splintered wood lying on the ground, mixed with bricks and rubble. No one was injured.
