MIXED FARE
WRESTLING AT TOWN HALL
v Tho Wellington Wrestling Association staged another programme at the Town Hall last night in which two contests between local professionals were supported by amateur bouts. As usual tho displays were fast and willing, the contestants also revealing considerable science. A. Read (13st 21b) and R. Newth (12st 101b) wrestled a draw, one fall each, in tho .first professional bout, and Syd Scott (list 4lb) was disqualified in the flftli round of his bout with Bert Monastra (list 61b).
Results of the amateur bouts are: E. Perry (9st 121b) beat J. Gough (9st 41b) on points. K. ilahoney (lOst 121b) beat D. McEwen (list), by two straight • falls. •J. Monaghau (list 21b) beat K. Matthews (list 81b) by one fall. C. Price (lOst 61b) beat J. Leurich (lOst 41b). D. Morton (9st 111b) drew with T. Hawley (9st 71b), one fall each. The referees were Sergeant-Major A. K. Jenkins and Mr. J. 11. Thompson.
Owing to the shortage of labour the Lower Hutt City Council is to advise the Hutt River Board that it considers the time inopportune to proceed with willow clearing in the Waiwhetu Stream. •■'
