FRENCH DEMONSTRATIONS
(Rec. 1 p.m.) LONDON, Jan. 28. A report from Vichy states that hundreds of tons of foodstuffs have been rushed to the Mediterranean region of France in an effort to check food demonstrations which occurred in the past fortnight. It is admitted that some demonstrations have taken a political aspect. It is stated that order would be energetically maintained if there was a recurrence. Many arrests have already been made.
