(N.Z.E.F. Official News Service.)

CAIRO, January 26

The commanders of two New Zealand Infantry Brigades in the Libyan campaign have been awarded decorations by General Auchinleck and a third New Zealand award was announced to.day to a private for special duty. The awards are: — Bar 'to D.5.0., Brigadier Harold Eric BarroAvclough, D.5.0., M.C. D.5.0., Brigadier Lindsay Merritt Inglis, M.C. M.M., Private Charles Dornbush. The citation in connection with i Brigadier Barrowclough reads: "For most conspicuous bravery and brilliant leadership as Brigade Commander during the advance of the New Zealand Division which led to the capture of Sidi Rezegh on November 27. This officer led and inspired his men during what must have been one of the most difficult battles in the campaign. Wherever the fighting was heaviest he was found leading and inspiring his troops."

Brigadier Inglis's citation reads: "During the operations which led to the establishment of the corridor into Tobruk on November 28 this commander organised and directed five successful attacks on enemy positions, culminating in the capture of the Belhamid spur and linking the Tobruk garrison. This officer showed great resource and skill in commanding his brigade. He was an excellent example to all."

Because of the secrecy of the work he was doing when he won his decoration the citation regarding Private Dornbush is not available for publication.
