ST. JAMES THEATRE

"Barnacle Bill."

Romance and comedy take a joy i-ide together in "Barnacle Bill," Wallace Beery's newest starring vehicle, which commences tomorrow at the St. James Theatre. Beery forsakes Western adventure for the waterfront and a tuna fishing fleet, and is teamed with Marjorie Main, the "lady blacksmith" of "Wyoming," in a rollicking love affair that is augmented by fights, thrills, and other excitement. Beery plays a waterfront loafer who falls in love, is faced with the care of a small daughter, played by Virginia Weidler, and goes to work. He champions the fishermen against a price-fixing combine and emerges the hero of the fishing village.
