SCHOOLS TO REOPEN

The Minister of Education (Mr. Mason) stated last evening he had been advised by the Minister of Health (Mr. Nordmeyer) that the epidemic of spinal meningitis in the north appeared to be waning; It was thought likely that the schools in the North Auckland district, other than those of the Bay of Islands County, could be reopened at the beginning of next term. An official announcement would be made by the end of the week.
