OFFICIAL FORECAST.

The following is the official weather forecast for the 24 hours from noon today:— . Winds. —Moderate to fresh westerlies over the Auckland Peninsula; elsewhere moderate north-westerlies to northerlies predominating and becoming strong in exposed places about and south of Cook Strait; a change to strong westerlies later in the far south.

Seas. —Moderate generally, but becoming rough later south of Farewell Spit and in Cook and Foveaux Straits. Weather.—Unsettled in Westland with intermittent rain developing from the south; cloudy in western districts of the North Island, with isolated showers; elsewhere fair to fine, apart from some morning fogs on the east coast of the North Island. Temperatures milder, especially in eastern districts.
