LITTLE CUP CONTEST
The second of three races for the Little Cup was contested by Takapunas of the Evans Bay Yacht and Motor-boat Club on Saturday afternoon. As In races held by other clubs, an unexpected change in the direction of the wind from south to east greatly altered the fortunes of the sailing. Manahau won the Little Cup race, which started at 3.5 p.m. The finishing times and order were:—Manahau (2min), 4h 37m 545, 4h 35in 545, 1; Waitangi (2min), 4h 38m 18s, 4h 36m ISs, 2; Nukumal (scr), 4U 36m 30s, 4m 36m 30s, 3; Scamper, 4; Mercury, C: Torment, 6; Swallow, 7; Falcon did not finish.
The fourteen-footer Delight raced again with the Idle Alongs. Their race began at 3.15 p.m., and the boats finished as follows:— Ripple (2min), 4m 39m 30s, 4b. 37m 30s, 1; Belvedere (3min), 4h 41m 15s, 4h 38m 15s, 2; Spitfire (3mln), 4h 41m 425, 4b 38m 425, 3; Delight, 4; Riptide, 5.
Only two started in the Tauranga race, at 3.15 p.m. They finished as follows: —Pee Wee (lOmin), 4h 0m 50s, 3h 50m 50s, 1; Little Man (scr), 3h 55m 525, 3h 55m 525, 2.
