MASSED CHOIR OF 600 VOICES.

A musical festival will be held at the Basin Reserve tomorrow at 2.15 p.m. All the principal bands and choral societies and church choirs will be represented. The choir of 600 voices will be accompanied by the Port Nicholson Silver Band and will sing Christmas carols and two choruses from Handel's "Messiah." The conductors of the choir will be Stanley Oliver and H. Temple White. The massed band will play under the baton of Lieutenant W. Osborne, of Timaru. The Trentham Military Band, under Lieutenant Chas. Pike, will also present a programme of music. The Hutt Valley High School Band, under Mr. T. Gray, will render a programme of music from 2 p.m. until 2.15 p.m. The proceeds of this concert will be devoted to the £1,000,000 Patriotic Appeal Fund. Choir members only will be admitted to the pavilion, through the Sussex Street entrance.
