HIRE PURCHASE

REGULATION EXTENDED

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, This Day

A notice published in this week's Gazette brings four types of chattels within the seventh schedule of the Chattels Transfer Act of 1924. They are electric washing machines, electric ironing machines, electric floor polishing machines, and petrol-driven washing machines. Mr. Sullivan said today that full investigations had revealed that a practice had been established of dealing with these classes of chattels by the method of hire purchase, and accordingly the seventh schedule had been extended. The effect was that hire purchase agreements in connection with such goods did not now require to be registered.
