"THE PLAYBOX."
Assheton Harbord can always be relied upon to strike an original note in his theatrical productions, and his annual recital this year promises to be the finest presentation he has yet offered to the public. There is a wonderful array of talent, both juvenile and adult, and the show, which has the appropriate title of "The Playbox," is guaranteed to be a fastmoving and absolutely non-stop revue. Scenes of particular interest in this revue are the great playbox scena, the forest scena (devoted to songs of the forest), the Spanish scena, featuring Joan Raine in a brilliant tarantella, a burlesque melodrama by the Green Room Club, a sketch-drama, with Assheton Harbord in the principal role, and finally a spectacular patriotic number. "The Playbox" will be for one night only, Monday, December 16, in the Concert Chamber, Town Hall. The box plan is at Begg's.
