AUCKLAND WOMAN CLERK

AUCKLAND, December 12,

A woman clerk, Phyllis Olive Barnett, aged 31, formerly employed in an Auckland solicitor's office, appeared in the Magistrate's Court charged with stealing £800, the property of Mary Cochrane Baird and another, on December 6, 1939.

The accused pleaded not guilty and was committed to the Supreme Court for trial. Bail was granted in the accused's own surety of £400 and two sureties of £200 each.
