Mails and freight are being held over for the next ship. LONDON, October 15. The latest precaution taken by tha ! United States Government against a 'worsening of the situation in the Far i East is to refuse to issue or renew passports for travel to Japan, north, and south China, Indo-China, and ! Hong Kong. For the removal of Americans already there, three ships are being sent. In addition to the Monterey and the Mariposa the liner Washington is leaving New York for the Far East on Saturday.
Another move connected with tha state of affairs in the Far East is a continuation of United States fleet movements in the Pacific. These have already lasted all the summer and today 30 American warships are leaving Hawaii to take part in further exercises. •
