"IN TO THE FINISH"
BRITISH COLONIES
DICTATORS' MISTAKE
LONDON, October 15,
In a broadcast today, /Lord Lloyd, Secretary of State for the Colonies, emphasised that the war ( was also the colonies' war. Hitler and Mussolini had declared that the war would be the test which would expose the rottenness of the British Empijre. The answer to that had already.been given. There had been renewed assurances of unflinching support and. devotion from the greatest Crown /Colony to the smallest coral reef in the Pacific. It was in the economic sphere that the colonies' contribution to the war effort was most powerful. The colonies had to make sure that none of the tropical products w»ent to the enemy directly or indirectly. "These far-off people regard your?war as theirs, and they are in it with you to a triumphant finish, however lojng the road," he added.
