OBITUARY
MR. J. A. TWIST
Mr. Joseph Albert Twist, who was seriously wounded by shellfire at Gallipoli on August 15, 1915, and who had been an invalid for twenty-five years, died on Saturday, aged 55 years. The youngest son of the late Mr. J. and Mrs. Grace Twist, pioneer residents of Oriental Bay, Mr. Twist attended Clyde Quay School and subsequently entered the building trade. He never married and is survived by three brothers, Messrs. R. H. (Rotorua), T. W. (Plimmerton), and J. N. Twist (Khandallah).
The funeral took place yesterday afternoon, the interment being in the family plot at Karori. The pallbearers were six nephews, namely. Messrs. Alva, Theo, Albert, Fred, and Spencer Twist, and Ivan Meyer, and Mr. J. Spence, who represented the Returned Soldiers' Association. The service at the graveside was conducted by the Rev. H. R. Fell, of Kent Terrace Presbyterian Church. The coffin was covered by the Union Jack and a number of beautiful floral emblems were received. »
