MASTERTON, This Day.

The Masterton County Council, at its monthly meeting, decided to oppose the suggestion of the Counties' Association that local body elections be postponed.

A sentence of one month's imprisonment with hard labour was imposed yesterday upon Andrew Colligan, a seaman, aged 40, who appeared before Mr. J. L. Stout, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court, charged with ship desertion.
