POSTPONEMENT OPPOSED

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, August 13. An unfavourable reception was given by the South Otago Hospital Board at its meeting at Balclutha today to a suggestion that the local body elections, due to be held next year, should be postponed because of the war. Members generally expressed the opinion | that, as they had been elected only for [three years, they should not take any i action to extend the term, and a resolution on those lines was adopted.

The Dunedin City Council also adopted a resolution opposing postponement of the elections.
