MANY CASES HEARD
COMPENSATION COURT
With the conclusion of the. Wellington sessions of the Compensation Court, this week Mr. justice O'Regan. has covered the whole of the Dominion since his appointment. The hearing of the first case started at Auckland, on March 13, and notwithstanding the in-; ! terval of the Easter vacation, the Court! ihas since sat at Auckland (twice) , Hamilton (twice), Rotorua, Napier< New Plymouth, Christchurch, Timaru^ Dunedin, Invercargill, Greymouth* Palmerston North, Blenheim, and Wek lington. In all 114 cases were disppsed of, and there were 30 written judg-> ments, of which several were of un* usual length.
Mr. Justice O'Regan will leave on Saturday for Wanganui and will _sit there next Monday and Tuesday, af teif which he goes to New Plymouth. After disposing of the cases there he goes pa to Auckland, where the sessions start' on Monday, August 26. ' , \
Not a few of the cases disposed of since Mr. Justice O'Regan's appoint*" ment had been listed a long time for hearing, but this was owing to thii mass of work confronting the Court of Arbitration, and there is every re&« son to expect that cases will be mbf« promptly disposed of in future.
