LONDON, May 13. i Today there were almost constant air raids in north-eastern Framce. The first warning sounded soon after dawn. • The first raid lasted four hiours and others followed throughout the day. In a relentless struggle between the bombers and Allied fighters and anti-aircraft guns, members of the R.A.F. escaped without casualty, though some made forced landings. Material damage was apparently small. .

Anti-aircraft guns brougjht down a Heinkel from 4000 feet, also three fighters and 10, and poissibly 13, Bombers in- the first raid ialone.

British planes continued/without abatement to strafe German troops moving up to Holland, Belgium, and Luxemburg. On one occasion they saved French land forces! in the nick of time.

One squadron attacked a bridge which the Germans had [just built in the Ardennes and swashed it to matchwood.

One pilot, returning rto his base, encountered seven Messerschmitts and shot down three of) them.

A Berlin message say;? that the official news agency reported that German* bombers attacked British forces attempting to land on tihe Belgian and Dutch coasts. It adds that several transports and escorting* warships were set on fire and partly fiunfc The Germans claim -that 320 Allied planes were destroyed oh May 12, including 58 which werei brought down in air encounters.
