WELLINGTON MEETING
WINTER PROGRAMME
TROPHY FOR STEEPLECHASE
The appearance of the programme for the Wellington Racing Club's Winter Meeting, to be held at Trentham on July 9, 11, and 13, will stimulate interest in big winter jumping contests at this end of the North Island. The club has decided to offer the same stakes as last year and the only material alteration during the three days is that a cup to the value of £75 has been added to the prize«ioney . attached to the Wellington Steeplechase, for which the stake as again £1000. The trophy has been presented by Mr. C. M. Turrell. In all the stakes distributed over the three days amount to £10,800, which is an apt illustration of the high level in prize-monies offered at metropolitan meetings in Wellington.
