A HANGAR DAMAGED
FIRST ATTACK SINCE THE INVASION
(By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright.) (Received April 22, ILIO a.m.) LONDON, April 21. The Aii' Ministry announced that the R.A.F. successfully attacked the aerodrome at Aalborg (about 50 miles from the northern tip of Denmark), which is a German base for air operations against Norway. The Air Ministry stated that bombs, were dropped from a low height and a hangar was damaged. One of our : machines, after dropping bombs, machine-gunned a German transport I plane which was about to land at the base. Fires were started on the aero-; drome by other planes which followed. A large number of machines; was engaged in these operations and all returned safely. The attack on Aalborg is the first that has been made against the Germans since their occupation of Denmark. It is understood that the Germans have been conveying troops to Norway by air from Aalborg. Some estimates give the number who have been landing daily by this means as high as 2000.
