TRAGIC FIRE

THREE CHILDREN TRAPPED

(Received February 9, 11.20 a.m.)

LONDON, February 8.

Awakening in the early morning to find the living-room ablaze, Mrs. Walker, of Battersea, rushed out to knock up the neighbours. The front door slammed and she was unable to re-enter. Three children, including a baby six months old, were burnt to death. Her husband was away doing war work.
