FRENCH PATROLS ADVANCE

LONDON, November 29. A French war communique says that nothing occurred during the night.
A French scouting patrol in the Bitche Plateau advanced between one and two miles into',Germany before encountering enemy outposts. They are reported to have brought back highly valuable information.
The German Official News Agency says: "The enemy artillery irregularly bombarded a hill to the south-west of Schneeberg and also in the Castleuieinsberg district. The German artillery was never at a loss for an answer. The French, for the first time in the war, tried to disturb the Palatinate Forest entrenchments."
