LATE MISS PATTRICK

PLUNKET LIBRARY

MEMORIAL

A library in commemoration of the late Miss Anne Pattrick, former Director of Plunket Nursing in New Zealand, is to be installed at the Dominion Plunket Training Centre, Dunedin. This decision was taken at a meeting of the Anne Pattrick Memorial Committee, held on Tuesday, and presided over by Mr. W. O. Gibb. An apology for absence was received from the Hon. W. Nash.

Mrs. James Begg wrote from Dunedin, consenting to act as first patron of the library, and stating that it would be housed in what was Miss Pattrick's bedroom and an adjoining room in the Truby King Harris Hospital, and also that the proposal was much appreciated by the nurses.

The first trustees of the library are to be the Hon. Mr. Justice Blair (representing Karitane Products, Ltd.) and Mr. W. O. Gibb and Mr. Ernest W. Hunt. The fund available is over £1500, including £250 from the Government and £750 from Karitane Products, Ltd.

Contributions were received from as far afield as London, Canada, and South Africa, said Mr. Gibb, showing that although the fact was not widely known, Miss Pattrick had devoted time to work abroad, and that work had been appreciated.

Control of the library is to be by a management committee representative of nursing, medical, and State health institutions, with the possible co-opera-: tion of the New Zealand Libraries' Association.
