DEFENDED DIVORCE SUIT

A suit for. divorce, on the grounds of an oral agreement for separation in April, 1936, was brought in the Supreme Court today/before Mr. JusticevJohnston, by Wilfred Grant. Fargie, a Jand-and estate agent and auctioneer (Mr. R Lv A. Cresswell), against Amy Mildred Fargie (Mr. E. R. Barrett). In her answer to the petition the respondent asked that the petition be dismissed and a divorce granted to her on the grounds of desertion. Mr. Cresswell said the petitioner was willing to withdraw the petition and allow the wife to succeed on her cross-petition, but the respondent's attitude was that il that were done she would withdraw her cross-petition. The petition was dismissed, and a decree nisi was granted on the crosspetition, with costs to the respondent
