PATRIOTIC FUND
NO STATE CONTROL

CHRISTCHURCH, This Day.
An assurance that the Government would.haye.no control of either the national "or local «£unds collected for patriotic purposes^ was given last evening by Mr. G. A. Hayden, national secretary 'of the fund, to a meeting of representatives of public and semi-public bodies and other or-' ganisations in' the City Council Chambers. The regulations, he said, were designed to see that soldiers were given equal treatment,1 and that the money collected was spent to'the best advantage. ■' . ~.•■■■■■ v ", ■ ■■■■;'-
