SALE OF PRINCE QUEX

When Prince Quex, a half-brother'by Lord Quex to Lady' Pam, was sent over to Melbourne as a yearling, his breeder, Mr. W. R. Kemball, believed that he would prove the best horse he had ever bred or raced. However, though he had a brief patch of winning form among class horses as a three-year-old, when his successes included the weight-for-age Melbourne Stakes, one mile, and Williamstown Stakes, 1£ miles, he did not come up to hopes. His subsequent form deteriorated, arid, now six years old, he was Sold by Mr. Kemball in Melbourne recently for 180 guineas, his purchaser being the Chudley Park Pastoral Company, of Queensland.
