HIGHGATES, LTD., LOSS
A loss of £56,579 is shown in the accounts of Highgates, Limited, chain credit stores, Sydney, for the period from October 1, 1938, to August 24 last. The loss, which increases the debit balance to £79,284, is made up of loss on trading £-27,504, and losses on realisation of fixed assets, receivership fees, and realisation committee's fees £29,075. The directors state they are causing a complete -in vestigation to be made of the company's affairs. They add that the work of rehabilitation will be difficult, particularly as the debtor accounts are in a bad state.
