ROME AND BERLIN QUIET
MOMENTOUS VISITS TO HITLER
(By Telegraph—Press Association —Copyright.)
(Received August 16,1 p.m.) LONDON, August 15.
Although in Berlin the Danzig situation seems suddenly to have become becalmed and even the Press comment has died down, while Italian pewspapers continue to urge a peaceful solution, it is felt in Warsaw that the next three weeks will be critical.
The uncertainty apparent in Berlin is partly due to tKe absence of the Nazi leaders with whom power of decision rests, though Dr. Goebbels unexpectedly returned by air from Italy. ■ Meanwhile, according to the correspondent of "The Times" in Berlin, it is realised that the visits to Herr Hitler by Count Ciano and Dr. Burckhardt are far more important than has yet been admitted.
