ISLAND ARSENAL
GERMAN STRATEGIC POSITION
DANZIG, July 5,
The little island of Holm, in the estuary of the Vistula, has been declared a closed area, presumably for its fortification and conversion into an arsenal.
The island occupies a strategic position opposite the Schichau shipbuilding yards, where arms and munitions have been landed, and where many workers have been dismissed because of doubt as to their Nazi sympathies.
