Wide publicity to the national Eucharistic Congress, to be held in Wellington early next year, and also to the New Zealand Centennial was being .given in America, said Archbishop O'Shea, on his return by the Monterey today. . . ' • ' .

High dignitaries of the Church from all over, the world would attend the congress. It was probable that American organisers would charter a ship and bring over 400 tourist visitors who would attend the congress living on the ship while in Wellington, then visiting Australia. There was a prospect of a French bishop attending. England, Scotland, and Ireland would be represented, but no bishop from Germany. The name of the Cardinal Legate to represent the Pope would be announced this month from Rome.

A remand to appear at Auckland on Monday next was granted Stanley Mottram, aged 28," who appeared before Mr. J. H. Luxford, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court today, charged' with the theft at Auckland on March 13 of a camera valued at £49 10s, the property of H. Robinson.
