DUCHESS'S ALLEGED ASSAILANT
SAID TO BE SHELLSHOCK

SYDNEY, June 7.
The Melbourne correspondent of the "Sydney Sun" reports that the man l.iraed Lawlor, who was arrested in connection with the Duchess of Kent shooting affair is known to a business man in the suburb of Elsternwick, M.. Melville Maxwell, who conducts a bicycle shop at which Lawlor purchased a bicycle last year, after which he sailed for England in January .
Mr. Maxwell said that Lawlor was a mild-mannered man, tall, and heavily built. He served with an ' Australian machine-gun company and since had suffered bad bouts of shellshock. While in Melbourne he did casual labouring work and did odd jobs.
Military authorities here can find no trace in the records- of an ex-service-man with Lawlor's Christian names.
