CONTRACT BRIDGE

Tournaments have been well contested at the Wellington Bridge. Club during May. Mrs. J. W. Brodie is still top of the individual ladder, with Mrs. G. Stott second and Dr. Hutchison third. On the evening's play on May 9 Mrs. H. B. Hornibrook and Mrs. E. M. Sampson were top for North-South and Mr. and Mrs. Ashley Duncan for EastWest, and on, May 23 Mrs. H. B. Hornibrook and Mrs. P. C. Rose topped the list for North-South- and Mrs. A. S. Houston and Mrs. C. L. Petry for EastWest. Trophies for improved percentages on the ladder were won by Mesdames Ashley Duncan, H. B. Hornibrook, A. S. Houston, and Miss L. Hall. .

Goblets were won at recreation evenings by Mrs. G. F- Jackson and Mrs. H. B. Hornibrook (N.-S.) and Mrs. C. L. Petry and Mr. Purdie (E.-W.) on May 2. and by Mrs. C. M. Banks and Mrs. R. S. Mclnnes (N.-S.) and Mr. G. Roper and Mr. E. B McKay (E.-W.) on May 16. On May 30 a par hand evening arranged by Dr. Hutchison resulted in a win for Mrs. W. E. Rawson and Mrs. H. H. Young (NorthSouth) and Mr. and Mrs. Ashley Duncan (East-West).

The winriers of the ladies' pairs afternoon held on May 12 were Mrs. E. B. McKay and Miss K. Williams (N.-S.) and Mrs. H. B. Hornibrook and Mrs. J. B. Forster (E.-W.).

Two teams are to play off for first and second place in the "two-life" teams-of-four tournament, Mr. C. Joplin's team (Mrs. Joplin, Mi's. Sampson, and Miss Kirwin), and Mr. H. Wilkinson's team (Mrs. Wilkinson and Mr: and Mrs. W. B. Rainey).

The two leading teams in the teams-of-four club championship are Mr. H, Burns's team (Messrs. G. Roper, A, Cresswell, and C. Wilson? and Mrs. Banks's team (Mrs. F. Gill, J. O'Donovan, arid C. L. Petry).
