DRAMA

"Breakfast With the Bullfinches" is the intriguing title of a 8.8.C. recorded feature which will be heard from IYA, Auckland, on Wednesday next at 9.31 p.m. This humorous and dramatic feature offers listeners something new in the way ol radio drama. In it is told the story of an English family who rejoice in the unusual name of Bullfinch, and we follow the family fortunes through three generations, but always we meet them at breakfast time. The listener obtains not only intimate glances of the family, but also interesting sidelights on -the customs, manners, politics, and events of the years througla which the family grows. All this is presented with a continuous flow that is a splendid tribute to both the writing and the production of the feature. "Breakfast With the Bullfinches" is written bjr Ursula Branston, and produced by William McLurg, and listeners are assured of an entertaining and artistic presentation.

Tonight, from 3YA, Christchurch, at 8 o'clock, will be heard a further chapter of "The Woman in White," a dramatisation-* of Wilkie ' Coliins's gripping novel. This is to be followed at 8.17 p.m. by the popular weekly feature, "Night Nurse," in which is heard drama and romance in the wards of a great hospital.

"The Exhibition of All Nations," part five of Victoriana," the dramatic mosaic in which is commemorated the life and reign of Queen Victoria, will be heard on Sunday night from 4YA, Dunedin. "Victoriana", is constructed and pi'oduced by the National Broadcasting Service.

"On the Indian Frontier" is the title of next week's presentation from the series, "Tales of the Silver Greyhound," which will be broadcast from IYA, Auckland, on Monday next at 8 p.m. Following this, at 9.30 p.m., will be* heard the weekly feature, "Thrills," in which ,are told „ true incidents, humorous and dramatic, taken from real life. Another episode in the feature, "John Halifax, Gentleman," a dramatisation of Mrs. Craik's famous novel, will be heard at 8.45 p.m.

From 3YA, Christchurch, on Tuesday night, listeners will hear the next chapter in that modern, romantic serial, "Soldier of Fortune," at 8 o'clock, and following this will be heard "Snatched From Her Lover's Arms," or "The Menace of Geoffrey Mummery," which is another presentation in the "OldTime The-Ayter" series.
