UPPER HUTT MEETING

At the June meeting of the Upper Hutt Women's Institute, Mrs. Spencer, president, was in the chair. The business programme included arrangements for a men's evening, also a discussion regarding information on air-raid precautions. A short but very interesting travel talk was given by Mr. A. M. Richards, who was present in order to arrange W.E.A. classes. Competition results for the month were as follows: —Three parsnips, Mrs. Galey 1. Mrs. Marshall 2; ginger cake, Mrs. Marshall 1, Mrs. Williams 2; thrift article, Mrs. Marshall 1, Mrs. Williams 2. Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses.
