HUTT AND ORIENTAL
By very sound combination amongst their backs, Hutt scored a convincing win over Oriental by 16 points to 3. The losers were hard put.to It all through the first spell, and, to make matters worse, their touch-finding and place-kicking were of a very poor standard. Getting more than their share of the ball, the Hutt backs moved quickly and with rare precision, and tho three tries in the first spell (by Williams, Holland, and Sargisson) were scored by means of thoroughly sound Rugby tactics. Sarglsson's try was the result of a really brilliant bit of work, his speed and. dodging being too much for the defence. Oriental played much better in the second spell, and the loose rushes of the forwards took a lot of stopping. Dwyer, Oriental halfback, was in sparkling form, - and. it was his good opening that led to the try by Ansley. Hutt's last try was the result of a good piece of opportunism by Graham, who put Williams In position for a good try. Evans converted two of the four tries scored by Hutt.
Mr. J. S. King was the referee
