A defective chimney was the cause of an outbreak of fire in a house, 20 Palm Grove, Berhampore, owned and occupied by Mr. L. Lyons, at 8.48 o'clock on Saturday night. Two machines from the South Wellington. Fire Station' attended the fire. The contents of an attic were damaged.

Pleading guilty to fighting in Vivian Street on Saturday evening. Herman Alphonse Magner. aged 32, a labourer, was fined £2 by Mr. J. H. Luxford, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court today.
