PACIFIC SERVICE
PAN-AMERICAN AIRWAYS
A PREPARATORY PARTY
(By Telegraph—Press Association.)
AUCKLAND, This Day,
The prospects of an early renewal of the Pan-American Airways Service in linking Auckland and San Francisco were brightened today with the arrival by the Mariposa of a party of the company's officers on their way to Noumea, New Caledonia, to establish intermediate bases. The officers, with their radio equipment and supplies, will tranship at Sydney for Noumea. The length of stay in the islands is indefinite.
Although no official announcement has been made it is likely that one of the giant Boeing Clippers on its first survey flight will • arrive at Auckland within a few months. The new route will be via Honolulu, Canton Island, Noumea, and the Kingman Reef. Pago Pago will be omitted.
