LABOUR PARTY NOMINATION
CHRISTCHURCH SOUTH SEAT

CHRISTCHURCH, May 2.
The first test of members of tha Labour Party in * Christchurch South as to whom they consider to be the most suitable person tc be given the party's nomination for the vacant seat was made tonight.
A meeting of the branch decided to support the nomination of Miss Mabel Howard.
It is reported that in addition to the name of Miss Howard, submitted for approval to the meeting, three other names were considered. They were those of the Mayor of Christchurch, Mr. R. M. MacFarlane, Mr. T. H. Langford, No. 3 licensing authority, and Mr. G. Manning.
