OBITUARY

MR. D. G. MCCAUL

The death occurred suddenly at his residence, Khandallah, yesterday, of Mr. D. G. McCaul, a well-known Wellington business man and principal of the firm of D. G. McCaul and Co., Ltd. Mr. McCaul, who would have been

54 years of age in a fortnight's time, was born and educated in Wellington. He joined the firm of Ellis and Manton, Ltd., 40 years ago, and remained with them until a year and eight months ago, when his own company was formed. He was a member of the Wellesley Club and the Wellington Savage Club, and at the time of his death was vicepresident of the Wellington Commercial Travellers' and Warehousemen's Association. He was a member of the association for 23 years, for 15 of which he was an office-bearer. He had been a vice-president for seven years. He was a vestryman of St. Barnabas' Church, Khandallah, and always took a keen interest in the progress of that

suburb

Mr. McCaul' is survived by his widow, one son, Mr. Malcolm McCaul, of Christchurch, two daughters—Kathleen, at present attending the Sorbonne University, Paris, and Marion, of Wellington—his mother, Mrs. E. A. McCaul, of Day's Bay, three brothers, and two sisters.
