CHRISTCHURCH, April 8. The New Zealand Metropolitan Trotting Club's Easter Meeting opened in fine weather before a great attendance. The track was fast. Totalisator investments were £58,480 10s, compared with £45,681 on the first day last year, which, on account of rain, opened on Wednesday of Easter week.
