USE OF FORCE

END TO COERCION

REPORTED REFERENCE BY

MR. DE VALERA

LONDON, February 7.

According to one report of Mr. de Valera's words in the Senate, he said: "I am opposed to a policy of force, but, if we had the strength of some Continental nations I would not hesitate to go north and put an end to coercion of nationalists. I do not think, however, that that would provide a permanent solution of the problem."
