WIGRAM AERODROME
TWO NEW HANGARS

CHRISTCHURCH, February 8,
Two new concrete hangars capable of holding many aeroplanes are included in a new building programme about to be started at Wigram, the Royal New Zealand Air Force training station. In the last few days three contracts have been let for "buildings which will involve an expenditure of more than £40,000. Work now in hand over the .entire station involves an expenditure of approximately £100,000. .;.
These are for two new hangars and for a second store building. Already this year tenders have been let for buildings at Wigram costing more than £.54,000. The programme now in hand, includes, in addition to the new { hangars and store room, the No. 1 , store room, a dormitory extension costing £5377, cubicles and a .ivatory building costing £1429, kitchen altera-( tions costing £659, and a petrol tank costing £318. Temporary barracks, for single men are also being buil^ and should be finished very shortly^ One of the most costly of the addi-* tion jobs is the construction of a high watertank of reinforced concrete.
