(Received February 9, 2.50 p.m.) CANBERRA, This Day. Australia lost 566 British-born residents and gained 4640 Southern Europeans last year, according to figures released by the Commonwealth Statistician.
The gains in Southern Europeans included 2747 Italians, 922 Greeks, and 643 Yugoslavs. The gain in the German population was 1713.
