» .. ■ ■ , ■ Cases in the Upper Hutt Court yesterday were dealt with by Mr. A. M. Goulding, S.M. For driving his motor-truck without due care and attention, Otto Kristensen Skou was fined 30s and costs. Fines were imposed as follows in the cases where the limit of 30 m.p.h. was exceeded:—Clement Stephen Cook, Rosslyn Charles Hislop, £2 each and costs; Patrick McCashin, £3 and costs; Ronald Ivan Douglas, William Anderson, and Elma Constance Crimp, £2 10s each and costs; Robert James McCrea and Donald Kidd, 30s each and costs; Norman Bourne Bentley, £1 and costs. Fines of £1 each and costs were imposed on William Raymond Burns and Noel Sandbrook on charges of riding their bicycles at night without lights. For allowing his cow to wander Oscar Brown (represented by Mr. A. J. Mazengarb) was fined 5s and costs. Operating a motor-lorry with a faulty footbrake cost Harry Lethaby £1 and costs. John Bell Taylor was fined £3 and costs for driving in a manner which might have been dangerous to the public, and for a similar offence Victor Charles Potter was fined £2 10s and costs. For riding a bicycle at night without a light Harold Mounter was fined £1 and costs, and for not having a red reflector he was fined 5s and costs. Failure to carry a warrant of fitness cost Henry William Burns 10s and costs and Harold Peter Landesson 15s and costs. Fines were imposed as follows' in cases where vehicles were driven without due care and attention:—Robert Malcolm Scott and Lewis Reginald Hobbs, £1 each and costs; David Auld £2 and costs. For failing to carry a warrant of fitness Scott was fined 15s and costs. A charge against Norman Ernest Winhall (represented by Mr. A. H. Macandrew) of driving without due care and attention was dismissed.
