IMPORTANT CYCLE EVENT

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) HASTINGS, This Day.

A field of 47 cyclists from all main centres of the North Island and from many South Island centres faced the starter at Stortford Lodge, Hastings, this morning for the North Island and Hawke's Bay-Poverty Bay 100-mile amateur road cycling championships. Some of the leading amateur cyclists of the Dominion are competing. As conditions are ideal, fast times are expected. The race is expected to finish at about 2.30 p.m.
