REPERTORY FAREWELL

A POPULAR GIRL

A very cheery and pleasant party was given yesterday at the Repertory Society's committee rooms when Miss Zita Chapman was the guest of honour. She will be leaving shortly with her sister for an extended tour in the United States and Great Britain, and her friends in the Repertory Theatre were glad of an opportunity of giving her a pleasant farewell as she has been a valued member of the society.

Cordial speeches were made by Mr. W. Simm, Mr. W. S. Wauchop, and Mr. L. dv Chateau, each paying a tribute to the good work Miss Chapman had done for the society, and when taking part in their plays! It was a pleasure, they stated, to work with her, and she brought a keen artistic spirit into all she did which made for success. They were sure she would take the opportunity of seeing as many and as good plays as possible while she was away, and they looked for the pleasure of hearing of those on her return.

Miss Chapman replied briefly, thanking all her friends for their kindness, and saying how much pleasure she had had in working with them.

All joined in musical honours for her when cocktails were handed round, and the members of committee present took the opportunity of wishing her "bon voyage" and a happy holiday.
