CHATHAM CUP

CLUBS TO PAY HOTEL

EXPENSES

The decision of' the Council of the Zealand Football Association that it will" guarantee travelling expenses Of semi-finalists and finalists in the Chatham Cup competition, but will not pay hotel expenses, was reaffirmed by last night's meeting of the council. Th matter was raised in a letter from the Wellington Football Association which stated that it felt that the nonprovision of hotel expenses should be reconsidered, as it was no negligible liability for teams. A Wellington team going to Auckland would probably have to pay more than £30 for three days at a hoteL The association felt that the interest of clubs in the competition had fallen off through their having toSace substantial payments to reach the final and If all clubs were to be given a chance a fuller provision should be made for travelling expenses.
