PETONE CLUB

The Petone Rifle Club fired the last of the competitions for the Longfield and Burridge Cups handicap aggregate on Saturday. The range for the day was 800 yards. The weather was fine with a light rear fishtail wind, and conditions during most of the afternoon were fairly easy. By consistently high scoring throughput the season J. C. Carter obtained the highest total in both the Longfield and Burridge aggregates. He also won the club championhip, and several of the series competitions. The leading totals for the Longfield Cup are—J. C. Carter 932, with D. E. Cameron 927 runner-up, followed by K. MacDowall 926, S. Nicholl and W. C. Hogg 919 each. The Burridge Cup aggregates are:— J. C. Carter 942, with S. Nicholl 932 runner-up. followed by D. E. Cameron 930, W. H. Nickless 929, W. H. Ballinger 928, E. F. Gilder 927, W. C. Hogg 926, R. W. McGrath 925, K. MacDowall 924. The club also fired a match between i the older members and the colts of the club '(colts are members of two seasons or less ' experience), and the colts won by 9 points. Next Saturday the club will com'plete the-service match for the Scott Memorial Cup. .This will be the final competition . for the season, except for several matches against country clubs.
