JOHNSONVILLE
The Johnsonville Women's Institute held their annual meeting in the Parish Hall. Mrs. ! Liddle presided oyer a good attendance,-there being a number of new members present. Mrs. \Vaite was appointed delegate to the Hutt Valley Federation.
Two visitors were present, Mrs. Gilbert (Dunedin) and Mrs. Boyes (Wai-nui-0.-mata). ■. ,
An interesting address was given by Mr. Rolfe, superintendent of the Free Ambulance, on the work which has been rendered by the ambulances.
The competitions were judged by Mrs. Boyes, and resulted in the Italian quilting being won by Mrs. Mason, with Mrs. Barnes second; tomato sauce prizes by Mrs. Nicholl and Mrs. Kessler.
Afternoon tea was served by the hostesses, Mesdames Hancock, Crawford, Kench, and Rose.
